Description
520, villa of Desana: it is a special day for Stefanus, a Roman patrician, and Valatrud, a noble maiden of the Goths: their marriage seems to herald a future of prosperity and union between the two peoples sharing Italy, still illuminated by the light of classical antiquity. Callistus, secretary of the villa, also looks forward to the future with confidence. Yet a terrible storm looms: the spring of hope will be followed by an autumn of war and a winter of death. Will Valatrud, Stefanus and Callistus manage not to lose their way? What will light their path? Will an old book be enough to accompany them to the timid dawn of a new world?

Ho acquistato il fumetto Ammianus tramite il progetto kickstarter e devo dire che:
– l’assistenza è stata top, non mi ero accorto che la mail della consegna del corriere fosse andata nello spam e Nubes mi ha subito contattato per chiedermi se tutto fosse apposto dato che non avevo ancora ritirato il fumetto.
– in generale il fumetto mi è piaciuto molto e mi ha emozionato in diversi punti. È l’adattamento di una storia che già conoscevo in formato podcast, ma devo dire che il lavoro di conversione è stato fatto in modo ottimale.

Un fumetto su un ragazzo che da “contabile” diventerà la guida di un podere a seguito di tragici eventi. La storia mostra come la cultura sia di vitale importanza. Ho apprezzato molto la time line dopo la postfazione perché io in storia sono negato. Ottimi disegni e colori stupendi

It told a story that I rarely hear from that late antiquity, early medieval period, and I loved the time lapse of the estate as famine/war/disease took hold, and its rebirth as a village. It tells a hopeful picture of rebirth and that life moves on. Thank you for the wonderful story.
