Sonia Morganti

Sonia first ventured into the world of creativity as a child, inventing stories to keep herself company. She views writing as a means of traveling through time, distilling her immersions in essays and feasts of documents into narrative. In addition to being one half of Nubes, she writes novels and short stories. Under this imprint, she has republished L’ombra perfetta – Storia di Calpurnia, moglie di Cesare, a revised and amended edition of her first novel. This was followed by Il magnifico perdente (2019, Oakmond, currently out of print), about the Italian school in London founded by Giuseppe Mazzini; Costanza Sicanie Regina (2020, Amazon), dedicated to the first wife of Frederick II; Giacomo, Streghetta e la Dama di Cristallo, una favola di Ognissanti (2022, Amazon); Il marchese di Foschisio (2023, Delos Digital), a historical novella suspended between Freud and Aphrodite; Vestiva il Tricolore – La scelta di Giuditta Bellerio (2025, Scrittura&Scritture), a historical novel about a forgotten but endearing figure from the Risorgimento. She has been a columnist for Greenious, Storia&Leggenda and, currently, occasionally for Topolino. Through her stories, she loves to remind readers that Rome is not just the power of the legions but also a way of living and feeling; it is its women and men, it is art, philosophy, law, mos maiorum, and so much more.
