Ilaria Matta

Ilaria Matta

Born in Cagliari, she is both an illustrator and comic-book artist.
She has been drawing ever since she can remember (they say it was around the age of 2). Now, she has more than 30 years of experience.
No matter the adventures she lived, there was always room for pencil and paper, always, creating realistic portraits for friends and relatives.
Passionate about animation, comics, and cinema, she grew up on Disney, which influenced and directed her Euromanga style to her first studies in 2014 at the Scuola Internazionale del fumetto in Cagliari, to then be supplemented with her own research with books of the greatest veterans of Disney animation (Tom Bancroft) and various workshops with names such as Barbara Canepa and Arianna Rea. Up unto arriving at the three year mastery at the Scuola Romana dei fumetti.
During her formative years, she worked on self-produced projects and published collaborations, as a colorist for The Badness, an illustrator for the children’s book Il Sottoletto, and as a comic-book artist for various stories of the SRF In fabula and In guerra by Ultra Edizioni.
She has collaborated with Nubes as a complete artist for Fortuna Caesaris – La Fortuna di Cesare.
Ilaria is a simple artist, who has a cat she loves to bits and who sometimes works into the early hours, because “inspiration comes at night”.
