Marco Cecini

Born in 1982, in 2007 took a master degree in Oriental Languages and Civilisations at “La Sapienza” University of Rome. He has always cultivated a personal interest in Roman History, to which he has dedicated his main study and research activities from 2018 to the present. In particular, he has delved into the Late Roman world and in particular into the Tetrarchic period and the brief reign of the Emperor Maxentius, taking his studies beyond the mere amateur passion and distinguishing himself for several scientific publications in Italy and abroad and for a commitment as an independent researcher also appreciated at high levels in academic world.
An active popularizer and reconstructor in the field of Historical Re-enactment, he founded the group “Protectores Domini Nostri”, dedicated to the reconstruction of Maxentius’ personal guard and the small political and military entourage, part of several national and international cultural events. In 2022 he conceived and presented for Canale 10 the historical popularization programme Aeternitas, and is currently working on new scientific publications and a new television programme.
